The year 1992, was a landmark year for North Karnataka, since, it saw the establishment of the N.E.T Pharmacy College by Navodaya Education Trust, Raichur, Karnataka. It was established by renowned personality with perfect vision, Sri S.R. Reddy, Chairman, N.E.T. who is unique in sharing the responsibility in overall development of Navodaya Institutions.

The institute is located in 65 acre Navodaya education campus. The college has earned repute as a center for quality education in the country for its efficient and well – qualified staff, well – equipped laboratories, modern equipment’s and discipline. Pharmacy and its scope
Pharmacy profession is the art and science of discovery/invention of molecules with medicinal value, preparation of suitable dosage forms for administration of drugs in man and animals and their quality control. The discipline of pharmacy has made enormous progress in production and research. It has attained independent status as pharmaceutical sciences encompassing all the stages in product development of a drug, from its discovery, identification, purity, development, action, safety, formulation, application, quality control, packaging, storage, marketing, stability studies etc. Thus, today's pharmaceutical professional is a drug expert in a true sense.
Pharmacy profession is a creative and challenging career. By choosing pharmacy as career, you can make all endeavours to create a healthy society. Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D)
Pharm D degree curriculum is different than that of B .Pharm, it includes extensive didactic clinical preparation and a full year of hands-on practice experience.
In 1990, the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) mandated that a doctor of pharmacy degree would be the new first-professional degree. Currently all accredited schools and colleges of pharmacy in the US offer the Pharm.D degree. National association of Boards of Pharmacy is now permitting students with 5 years degree like Pharm D for FPGEE eligibility.
Many other countries like Canada, Spain, France, Slovakia, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Philippines, Thailand, Pakistan, Jamaica, Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Nigeria etc have started Pharm D programs. India has started Pharm D Program from 2008.

Duration: Pharm D course shall be of six academic years (five years of study and one year of internship or residency) each academic year spread over a period of not less than two hundred working days. Sixth year involves posting in specialty units training students in pharmacy practice or clinical pharmacy services

Eligibility: Pharm.D: 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Mathematics or Biology, Or A pass in D.Pharm; completed 17 years of age

Master in Pharmacy.
The Master of Sciences of Pharmacy( M Pharma) is the standard Master's degree course in Pharmacy. it is the honourable Diploma(Degree) authorized from the European Faculties of Pharmacy as it take five to seven years to complete.
M.Pharma course is an advanced study of the series of processes involved in the identification, quantification, determination, and purification of a given chemical substance, in separation of the components of a solution or mixture, and in determination of structures of chemical compounds. Students acquire adequate knowledge and necessary skills to practice the profession of pharmacy. They learn about synthesis and assay of medicinal agents including mode of action, drug interactions and patient counseling and professional information exchange with Physicians and other paramedicos. This course includes an advanced study of the discipline’s components such as method validation, documentation, handling of raw materials and finished products, inspections that impact the development of pharmaceutical products.

Duration: The course of study including submission of dissertation on the topic registered shall be of 24 months (Two Years) duration from the commencement of academic term.

Eligibility:  A candidate should have passed B.Pharm degree examination of RGUHS or B.Pharm examination of any recognized Indian University as established by law in India or should have completed any other degree courses in pharmacy recognized as equivalent by RGUHS University or Pharmacy Council of India,(PCI) and/or All India Council of Technical Education (A I.C.T.E,) for this purpose and should have secured not less than 50% of the maximum marks (aggregate of four years) prescribed for the qualifying examination. Then s/he shall be eligible for admission to the M.Pharm course.For SC / ST / Category-I (Karnataka) candidates must have a degree in B.Pharm

Bachelor in Pharmacy
B.Pharmacy is an undergraduate course in which students learn art and science of preparing and dispensing drugs and medicines B Pharm course focuses on the study of biology, pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemistry, medicines, physiology, pharmacology, dispensing etc. B Pharm course is an industry oriented where students learn about drug formulation, study various drug sources, their molecular structure, methods to synthesize/ manufacture drugs, pharmacological actions of the drugs. The course includes the study of pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacognosy. During the course, students get an in depth knowledge of formulation, storage and analysis of various pharmaceutical dosage forms and makes them ready to take on various roles in the pharmaceutical industry. Students gain the knowledge of medicines and biology. The pharmacy graduates are required in manufacturing, research and development, analytical, retailing departments and drug law enforcement directorates in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries

Duration: 4 years

Eligibility: Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following - Mathematics / Computer Science / Biotechnology / Biology. Obtained at least 40% marks (35% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. Candidates who have passed D.Pharm course approved by Pharmacy Council of India shall also be eligible to this course and can be admitted directly to II Year.

Diploma in Pharmacy
D.Pharma means Diploma in Pharmacy.The persons who has completed D.Pharma can be employed as pharmacists in shops selling medicine.Pharmacist can work with pharmaceutical industry, government departments, universities, teaching hospitals, investigation and research institute etc.

Duration: 2 years + practical training of 500 hours spread over a period of not less than 3 months in a Govt. Hospital/Pharmacy, which is recognized by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.

Eligibility: A pass in any of the following exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Mathematics.

Doctor of Pharmacy – Post Baccalaureate (Pharm D - PB)
Doctor of Pharmacy is one of the new courses introduced in the Indian pharmaceutical education. The first and foremost role of a pharmacist is to make the patient feel happy about his health and provide better advices for the patient apart from dispensing medicine. As members of the health care team composed of physicians and nurses, among others, pharmacists have an opportunity for direct involvement with patient care. The knowledge and clinical skills that the contemporary pharmacist possesses make this individual an authoritative source of drug information for physicians, nurses, and patients. The opportunities exist in Hospital pharmacy, Academics, Clinical trials, Regulatory affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Drug Monitoring Services

Duration: 3 years (two years of study and one year internship or residency)

Eligibility: A graduate in B. Pharm degree examination of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences or B. Pharm examination of any other recognized Indian University established by law in India. He may also have completed any other degree courses in Pharmacy recognized as equivalent by RGUHS and Pharmacy Council of India.Eligible candidates who may be of the capacity to join in the fourth year of Pharm.D course as lateral entry are allowed.
Third Year Post Baccalaureate: Internship or Residency Training
The students will dedicate one year for Internship or residency training including postings in specialty units. Student should provide the clinical pharmacy services under supervision of a preceptor to the allotted wards.Six months in General Medicine department, andtwo months each in three other specialty departments
