A candidate should have passed B.Pharm examination of any recognized Indian University as established by law in India or should have completed any other degree courses in pharmacy OR Pharmacy Council of India,(PCI) and/or All India Council of Technical Education (A I.C.T.E,) for this purpose and should have secured not less than 50% of the maximum marks (aggregate of four years) prescribed for the qualifying examination. Then s/he shall be eligible for admission to the M.Pharm course.Bachelor in Pharmacy
B.Pharmacy is an undergraduate course in which students learn art and science of preparing and dispensing drugs and medicines B Pharm course focuses on the study of biology, pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemistry, medicines, physiology, pharmacology, dispensing etc. B Pharm course is an industry oriented where students learn about drug formulation, study various drug sources, their molecular structure, methods to synthesize/ manufacture drugs, pharmacological actions of the drugs. The course includes the study of pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacognosy. During the course, students get an in depth knowledge of formulation, storage and analysis of various pharmaceutical dosage forms and makes them ready to take on various roles in the pharmaceutical industry. Students gain the knowledge of medicines and biology. The pharmacy graduates are required in manufacturing, research and development, analytical, retailing departments and drug law enforcement directorates in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries
Duration: 4 years
Candidates should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following - Mathematics / Computer Science / Biotechnology / Biology. Obtained at least 40% marks (35% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. Candidates who have passed D.Pharm course approved by Pharmacy Council of India shall also be eligible to this course and can be admitted directly to II Year.
Library: A wide range of resources and services including texts, periodicals, journals are available. All core books in minimum 5 to 10 copies are available. Additional to the core books, books recommended by lecturers and wide range of reference books to meet the needs of your study and research are also available for extra reading.
Books may be borrowed for three weeks with the exception of Reference books (indicated by a label) which may not leave the library. Apart from the main college library, the college has also maintained departmental libraries in all the departments where the students can easily access required information of a particular subject.
